OffChat / Mesh
Offline messaging when cellular service is gone
By Emerson Amorim, founder of KingFy
Nearby Android phones keep talking over Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct and local mesh networking — no carrier, no Wi-Fi hotspot.

A → B → C · the middle phone relays when the ends cannot reach each other.
What is OffChat?
OffChat is KingFy’s offline messaging layer on Android. It is not WhatsApp in airplane mode. Messages travel phone-to-phone over radio. A mesh starts only when a third nearby phone running the same app can forward the text.
How it works
- Install KingFy on Android and turn OffChat on, with Bluetooth (and Wi-Fi Direct if the device supports it).
- Keep the other phone nearby, with KingFy and OffChat also on.
- Discover nearby devices on the local mesh.
- Send the message peer-to-peer. It does not go through a mobile carrier.
Bluetooth vs Wi-Fi Direct vs mesh
Bluetooth covers a short, simple link. Wi-Fi Direct uses the phone’s Wi-Fi radio without a router and usually reaches farther than classic Bluetooth when both devices support it.
Mesh messaging is application-level: phone B can forward a text from A to C. An empty street is an empty mesh. This is not nationwide coverage and it is not a substitute for emergency numbers.
What OffChat is not
It does not send a message to another city without a carrier. Both users need KingFy installed. There is no browser mesh and no iPhone peer on this mesh.
Key features
- Offline messaging without cellular data
- Bluetooth for nearby phones
- Wi-Fi Direct when the device supports it
- Local mesh hops between phones running KingFy
Use cases
- Crowded events where 4G/5G is saturated
- Travel, trails and weak-signal areas
- In-person meetings without using venue Wi-Fi
- A note to someone standing a few meters away
Honest limits
- Range is limited by Bluetooth/Wi-Fi Direct and by walls, crowds and terrain.
- Both sides — or the mesh chain — need the Android app with OffChat on.
- Does not deliver to someone in another city without internet.
- Mesh does not exist in KingFy Web.
Why this lives in KingFy
You do not install a second walkie-talkie app. Offline messaging powered by Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct and local mesh networking lives in the same Android Super App as the AI tools.
FAQ
- Does OffChat work without cellular service?
- Yes for nearby phones. The text uses Bluetooth or Wi-Fi Direct. You still need proximity and KingFy on both devices.
- Do both users need KingFy installed?
- Yes. Each side needs the KingFy Android app with OffChat on. It does not deliver to SMS or other messengers.
- Does it work on iPhone or in a browser?
- No. This mesh is Android. In the browser you can create an account and use other modules; OffChat does not replicate Bluetooth or Wi-Fi Direct on the web.
- Is it available in the United States?
- The Android app is listed on Google Play worldwide. OffChat is a device-to-device radio feature — it does not depend on a US carrier.
